Pocket sonar on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

Alpha testing. Pick a board from the dropdown or leave Auto-detect on. Plug USB-C, flash, and the stick uses its 2.4 GHz radio. The password is entered on the device by cycling letters with the buttons. This page never asks for it.

ESP32-S3 USB device IDs change once. The same USB-C cable shows two different devices:

  • 303a:1001 USB-Serial-JTAG (WinUSB) — download / esptool. Pick this to flash.
  • 303a:4001 TinyUSB Board CDC (usbser.sys) — MicroPython after reset. New COM port. Not the flash device.

Vendor ID stays Espressif 303a. Product ID is what changes (10014001). Browsers store permission as VID+PID, so the CDC port needs its own click if we have to talk to it. macOS and Linux need no extra driver. If 1001 never becomes 4001, the image did not start — PICO-1 must use the standard S3 CDC build, not octal PSRAM.

Auto-detect · board photo appears after USB identify
